We decided that Rivendell elves also need a facelift for the next version of TLD. This is an idea I drew after some doodling.

I especially like the Helmet,it has some really elvish loook!
I hope this type of helmet will make it directly to TLD,Elves really lack armour diversity ;)

We'll see, we're short on people and there are other priorities. Maybe. :)

Great progress since the last version dude! I enjoy the sword and scabbard design. The perspective on the left foot makes me go in for a double look because it appears off. I think the lean of his shoulders makes up for the confusion around the hips.

Sorry to dig on your anatomy! The concept is goood

Nice work Merlkir! Love the armour and the helm! The spear shaft, have you thought of doing it 1st Age style? I read the book on it and Elven Spears are BAMF. :D The shield, what shape is it? It is blocked. My eyes RAGE. :D

What do you mean by 1st age style spears?

It means its not a pointy stick. :D Its a kind of spear that can both slash and stab. Mots spears just thrust to stab. 1st Age Eleven spear shafts designed to be like a knife, to cut and stab.

Are you sure that having 'rank and file' troops for Rivendell is such a good idea? I've always pictured what military they had to consist of individual Elf-Lords, who would be sent to ride out and accomplish such missions as were in their power (Elladan and Elrohir aiding the Dunedain in times of need, Glorfindel riding out to find Frodo and Strider, Gildor and his company keeping the Roads open, etc etc).

This is an excellent design - don't get me wrong. The organic, quasi-Gothic segmented pauldrons and lean shin-guards (can't remember the proper term, hehe), as well as the Classical Noldo-Beleriand open-faced helm. I guess it could be argued that Rivendell (and later, to a lesser extent, Minas Tirith) was the last bastions of lore of the Elder Days, and so the gear of its warriors would represent that. But I regress - it just doesn't really 'mesh' with my idea of their warriors :P

Well.

I agree. :) But it's a concept for a game. And our model slots are limited. We simply can't have the Rivendell "army" consist of individual elven lords with unique gear.

There will be some variety, but we have to make them uniform.

Hehe. Yeah, I know about TLD etc. I think that you're doing the best you can with the options you have (having a sort of rank-and-file muster of Rivendell) would be best for gameplay, as the number of potential Elf-Lords is severely limited, haha.

So I guess all I can tell you is to keep up the good work :)
